(New York, NY) -- Alec Baldwin is heading back to the 30 Rock studios. After wrapping a seven season run on NBC's "30 Rock," Baldwin will be back in front of the cameras next month, this time on MSNBC. The cable news channel is now confirming reports that surfaced several weeks ago about the actor getting his own talk show. Titled "Up Late w/Alec Baldwin," MSNBC says the show will air Friday nights and cover culture and current events, much like the topics Baldwin covers on his New York public radio show and podcast "Here's The Thing."
Baldwin says in the two seasons he's hosted his podcast, he's developed "a fondness for hosting a show that involved talking with smart, talented, and engaging people in every imaginable field." He says he's looking forward to his MSNBC gig. The 54-year-old actor recently became a new father with the August birth of his daughter, Carmen Gabriela, with wife Hilaria Thomas.
