LOS ANGELES (AP) — Traffic is moving again on a Los Angeles freeway that was partially closed following a fatal collision between a dump truck and a car.
California Highway Patrol Officer Jennifer Cassidy says one person in the car was killed and another was injured in the pre-dawn crash Wednesday on Interstate 210.
All eastbound lanes of the freeway near La Verne were closed for several hours, backing up traffic for miles. All lanes except the carpool lane were reopened around 7:40 a.m.
Authorities say it appears at least one of the vehicles, and maybe both, struck the center divider.
The impact of the collision pushed a portion of the divider into the westbound carpool lane, which is also closed.
The driver of the truck was not hurt.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
